A Different Kind of “Talk”

I know what most of you are already thinking…another one of those commentaries on “how to have the sex talk” with your children. Well, in my family “The Talk” has come to represent something totally different and one that we would have several times a year.

It all started when I was young, and my dad would come in at the start of the school year, and we would talk about what my goals were for the year. I would have to get out a piece of paper and write down what I hoped to achieve academically and how I was going to get there. It was alright when I was younger, but as I grew up, it became more stressful, and a time I truthfully started to dread. Todd is a former homebuilding executive who recently stepped down after 25 years to find a better balance of faith, family, and work. Prior to his career in the homebuilding industry he served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Georgia Tech.
