The Getaway Plan

The kids, bills, car pools, the kids, sports practices, our jobs, the kids, housework … did I mention the kids?

Our lives as parents seem to move at breakneck speed with no end to the ride in sight. We’ve all had those weekends where it feels like we only see our spouses in passing, and find ourselves on Monday morning wondering what in the heck had just happened to the past 48 hours. While the busyness is certainly part of married life, we have to remember one thing … nothing in marriage is more important than our relationships with God, followed by our relationships with our spouses, and then everything else. If you find that, like me, your marriage too often is put on the back burner to all the busyness, it’s probably time to take your spouse on a weekend getaway!
