Tips On Seeking Christ in Your Marriage

Once upon a time, this is how we began to go deeper putting Jesus as the center of our marriage:

“Joe, St Mary’s Lifeteen really could use some help at Camp Christopher next weekend putting meals together for the kids, and we could go use that gift certificate for the steakhouse after we are done.”

The only word I heard at the time was steakhouse as I had been begging her to use that gift certificate for months to get a big juicy ribeye and those monster-sized onion rings. The meal ordered will assuredly get “the look” from the dietitian I married.

Keeping Jesus in our marriage means being in community with other holy marriages, other great Catholics and teaching teenagers what we most need to learn. That weekend, washing dishes and cooking, we met several other couples who circled us into their great community of support. Again over great meals, we…

Joe and Marianne Doman have been blessed by 32 years of marriage and their children Cate, Claire, Drew, Grace, and their son-in law Patrick and now by their grandson Luc. They reside in Hudson, Ohio and serve as Core Members at their home parish.
